New Patient Information

We are currently accepting new patients at our Fredericksburg and Ashland Smile Center locations. Please call to book an appointment and speak to our team members about cosmetic and general dentistry services

Before your new patient appointment

Before your first appointment at the Smile Center, we ask that you complete the new patient forms that will be emailed or texted to you in advance of your appointment. If you have dental insurance,  please provide us with your insurance information before your appointment. We also ask that you send over any x-rays or relevant information from your previous dental office before you arrive. If you have any questions about how to complete the forms or how to send your x-rays to us, please contact us.

What to expect at your first dental appointment

We strive to make your first appointment at the Smile Center as comfortable as possible. You will be greeted by our front desk staff and checked in for your appointment. You will be asked to provide a copy of your insurance card (if applicable) and ID. If you have not already completed the new patient paperwork, you will be given a tablet to do so. You will be encouraged to wait in our comfortable seating area before you are called back to a treatment room by one of our team members.

Comprehensive Exam

Our team members will review your dental and medical history with you and discuss any concerns you may have. You will have images and x-rays taken for the dentist to review. The next step of your visit will be the comprehensive exam. Our doctors will review your x-rays and will complete a full examination. Based on your exam, your dentist may create a personalized treatment plan and discuss your options. Please note, at your first visit you may not receive a cleaning. You may need further dental treatment before your hygiene appointment.

Hygiene Visit

During your appointment, a dental hygienist will review your dental history and will discuss your oral hygiene habits with you. You are encouraged to discuss any questions or concerns you may have in order to learn more about proper oral hygiene. The hygiene assistant and hygienist will complete a thorough cleaning and polishing of your teeth. We will also utilize a digital scanning device to create a comprehensive full color image of your teeth, jaw, and bite. Any further treatment may be discussed with you after your hygiene appointment.

Booking your next appointment

A team member will walk you out to the front desk to book your next appointment. If the dentist identified any treatment plans for you, the front desk coordinators will review your plan with you and will answer any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you again at your next appointment!
