What does the Smile Center offer?

Fredericksburg and Ashland Smile Center offer the following digital dentistry options to improve your experience as a patient.

CBCT

A Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) image captures your soft tissues, nerve pathways, and facial bones all in one scan which shows your dentist a comprehensive view of your oral health. This can be used to diagnose endodontic conditions, plan implants, evaluate your jaw, and diagnose cavities.

Digital Scanning

We have two digital scanning systems we utilize in our office, the iTero® Scanner and CEREC Scanner.

The iTero® intraoral scanner captures a comprehensive full-color image of your mouth to see your teeth, jaw, and bite. We are also able to compare this image to previous scans to view any changes that have occurred over time. These images are used to create your individualized treatment plan for Invisalign, night guards, and more.

The CEREC scanner captures an image of your full jaw and creates a precise scan for developing crowns, bridges, implants, and surgical guides. This integrates with CEREC mill to print same day materials.

3D Printer

Our 3D printer allows us to print same day dental appliances to save time on having to ship them out to a lab. The 3D printer can be used to print surgical guides, denture try-ins, clear aligners, and occlusal guards.

CEREC

The CEREC scanner is used to create precise scans for crowns, bridges, implants, and surgical guides which are sent to our CEREC millers for in-house production of these items. By scanning and producing these items in house, we save your time as you can stay in the chair while these items are milled. Learn more about our CEREC same day crowns.
